As an organisation V-SAC is committed to good governance in the way it is managed and run.
At the A.G.M. held on 24 July 2014, the Board and members of V-SAC formally agreed to sign up to the Code of Practice for Good Governance of Community, Voluntary and Charitable Organisations in Ireland. Since then, the Board of V-SAC has engaged in a comprehensive programme to ensure compliance with the code and that process has now been completed. V-SAC is now fully compliant with the items set out in the checklist for a Type B organisation.
Adopting the Code gives our funders and donors the re-assurance that their money is being managed by an efficient organisation with good governance. It increases transparency in that everyone knows how the organisation is being run and helps us to avoid taking bad risks. That allows us to achieve our goals faster and keep costs down.
