What We Won’t Do

The criminal justice system operates under strict rules that must be obeyed by everyone involved in the process.  Our job is solely to provide court accompaniment.  As a result our trained volunteers are limited in other areas in how they may help you and will not do certain things.

Our volunteers:

• Won’t discuss with you the evidence you give to the court
• Won’t give you legal advice
• Won’t communicate with you during cross-examination of evidence
• Won’t assist you with your victim impact statement.

In situations where are our volunteers are unable to assist, they will be able to direct you to the appropriate agency or source for further assistance.
